My Favorite Watercolor Supplies

When I first started my journey of working with watercolor, I didn’t know what watercolor supplies I should be using nor how much impact the right supplies would have in my art practice.

In the beginning I used whatever material I could use, or in other words “ Afford”. I would go with really cheap materials, but little did I know that they were affecting the way my artwork will look at the end. Now this doesn’t mean that you need to spend hundreds of dollars on expensive art materials. You can find affordable art supplies with great quality.

I often get asked what are some of the watercolor supplies I use, so I thought I’d make a list of my go-to supplies for  working with watercolor! Even if you are a beginner at watercolor I totally recommend you check these supplies.

Paint Palette

There are many sizes, I personally love a palette that is big enough to hold different colors. By the way those little sections in a palette are called Wells, the more wells the better. Having a section where you can mix your colors is also very important. There are Palettes made of plastic, ceramic and acrylic. I’m linking some of my favorites.

Watercolor Paints

Now there are so many different brands out -there, While getting really cheap paints may seem the most attractive choice, when it comes to the final finish can turn your paintings to look somehow dull. What I’m always looking for is a vibrant finish.

Here are some watercolor paintings that I recommend.

Watercolor Paper

I can't emphasize enough how important your paper choice is. I recommend working with 140 lb and higher.
